Team Card Explanation

Each ranking section displays the team's rank for that attribute (large number on the left), the total number of teams (small number on the bottom), and a percentile bar showing the percentage of teams the selected team ranks above (bar on the right).

Team attribute rankings are displayed on a per-game basis.

Data includes all games played up to and including April 17, 2026.

Data is from Natural Stat Trick.

Elo Graph

  • The team's Elo rating over time. Elo is a game-by-game rating system where every team starts at 1500, then gains or loses rating points after each game. Ratings change based on the opponent's strength (their Elo rating), the game result, and margin of victory. Regulation wins count more than overtime wins, which count more than shootout wins. For example, a weak team beating a strong team 5–1 in regulation will gain significantly more rating than a strong team beating a weak team 2–1 in a shootout. Higher Elo values indicate stronger team performance at that point in the season.

SRS Graph

  • The team's Simple Rating System (SRS) rank over the past 5 seasons. SRS estimates team strength using game results, goal differential, and home-ice advantage. The model assigns each team a rating by finding the values that best explain actual game margins across the season. This rating represents how much a team would be expected to outscore an average team by. For visualization, SRS ratings are converted into league-wide rankings for each season.
