Player Card Explanation

Skater's Overall, 5v5 Offense, 5v5 Defense, Power Play, and Penalty Kill are calculated using a Wins Above Replacement (WAR) model: a regression that isolates each skater's own on-ice impact net of every teammate and opponent who shared the ice with them, converted to a wins-denominated scale. A larger write-up on my model and methodology will be written soon. Note that my goalie cards do not yet use a WAR model, but will be implemented soon.

All attributes are weighted based on the past 3 seasons, with the most recent season weighted the most. This gives a better overview of a player's overall skill instead of only single-season performance.

Each ranking section has the player's ranking for that attribute (the large number on the left), out of the total number of players that qualify for that attribute (the small number on the bottom), and a percentile bar showing the percentage of players that the selected player ranks above in that attribute (the bar on the right).

Graphs show the yearly attribute percentiles, not the weighted percentiles. This gives a clearer view of how player performance changes from season to season.

To qualify for rankings, skaters must have played at least 3.66 minutes per the total games in the season (300 minutes over an 82 game season), goalies must have played 15% of the total games in the season (13 games in an 82 game season).

Data includes all games played up to and including April 17, 2026.

Data used is from Natural Stat Trick.
